Courage Score Week of Action: Deliver Aguiar-Curry Report Card
March 13 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The 2018 Report Cards are here and Aguiar-Curry has earned a spot in the Courage ”Hall of Shame” with a “D” grade. How did this happen?
Aguiar-Curry often says yes to the easy votes, but when it comes time to show courage and cross the corporate interest groups roaming the Capitol? She doesn’t vote. The Sacramento Bee noted how “education reformers, oil companies and real estate interests” spent nearly $2 million to elect her. Then she abstained from voting on expanding tenant protections (AB 2364), increasing transparency and accountability for charter schools (AB 1478), and reforms to help environmentally vulnerable and economically disadvantaged communities (AB 2447). Aguiar-Curry’s constituents deserve a representative that shows up for the votes that matter most to them.
Join us in delivering the 2018 Courage Score Report Card to Aguiar-Curry along with a “Syllabus” of 2019 legislation that will help her earn a better grade and better align with her constituents’ priorities.
Background: The Courage Campaign identifies key votes exemplifying standing with constituents over corporate and special interests that exploit Californians, especially the most vulnerable amongst us. Read their methodology here: https://www.couragescore.org/about/
