BLOG CALL SCRIPTS THE WEEK OF MARCH 19, 2018
2018-03-19Tell MoC to use their leverage on omnibus budget negotiations
- Sen. Harris: (202) 224-3553
- Sen. Feinstein: (202) 224-3841
- Rep. Garamendi: (202) 225-1880
Hello, I’m a constituent from zip code ___.
I’m calling to urge the Senator/Representative to use their leverage in negotiations on the omnibus budget bill. Please hold out for a clean DREAM act, and don’t vote for any bill that gives in to racist and misogynistic Republican demands.
I’m asking the Senator/Representative: please don’t vote for any bill that would increase money for detention centers; don’t restrict abortion, and don’t make cuts to our social safety net.
Republicans are also begging for help to fix parts of their tax scam- please let them own their failure rather than helping them push their agenda.
Tell Senator Feinstein to Lead the Opposition against Haspel as CIA Director
- Sen. Feinstein: (202) 224-3841
Thank you for your call to have Gina Haspel’s involvement in the CIA’s illegal interrogation program declassified. I strongly oppose her nomination as CIA Director. As the senior Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, I expect you to lead the opposition to her nomination as CIA director. I have been worried about your public statements saying you will wait to make a decision.
Tell Rep. Garamendi to stop the rollback of Dodd-Frank protections.
- Rep. Garamendi: (202) 225-1880
Hello, my name is ____ and I am calling from zip code _____.
I’m calling to express my opposition to S. 2155, which would roll back Dodd-Frank regulations that protect consumers and banks from risky investments. I urge the Congressman to vote against this legislation and keep our economy from financial meltdown. Other Democrats have inexplicably supported this bill; I want Garamendi to stand up for what’s right and vote no.
Thank Rep. Garamendi for Calling Trump out as the National Security Risk he is!
- Rep. Garamendi: (202) 225-1880
My name is ____ and I am a constituent from zip code _____.
I would like to thank Rep. Garamendi for his appearance on CNN last week. Clearly our administration is not doing their job in keeping our country safe and I appreciate the congressman making this clear.
The Congressman raised a number of very important points during the interview. I expect him to follow up on all the important questions that he raised during the interview and bring us the answers. As he clearly stated we can’t rely on the Republican controlled house to do their job.
Tell Senator Harris to end our unauthorized war in Yemen
- Sen. Harris: (202) 224-3553
Hi, My name is _____ and I’m calling from [part of state].
I’m calling about the joint resolution introduced by Senators Lee and Sanders to end our unauthorized war in Yemen. It is essential for {PERSON} to support this resolution when it comes to the floor for a vote.
Congress has never authorized this war, and evidence shows that the airstrikes the U.S. is supporting are causing a humanitarian crisis and may amount to war crimes. The chaos has allowed terror groups such as ISIS and Al Qaeda affiliates to gain more power and land. It’s time for {PERSON} to exercise Congress’ constitutional power and end this unauthorized war.
