Support the BRIDGE Act, which will help Dreamers keep their protected status and stop Trump from using confidential personal information for deportation.
What it is:
Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) have introduced the BRIDGE Act (S.3542), bipartisan legislation whose intent is to allow people who are eligible for or who have received work authorization and temporary relief from deportation through Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) to continue living in the U.S. with permission from the federal government. Representatives Mike Coffman (CO-06) and Luis V. Gutiérrez (IL-04) have introduced companion legislation in the House of Representatives (H.R.496).
What to say:
Hi, my name is [x] and I’m a constituent — my zipcode is [x]. I’m calling to express support for the BRIDGE Act. It is incredibly important to me that my Senator/Congressperson show support for our nation’s immigrant population, and I am incredibly disheartened by the way the current administration has been essentially rounding up immigrants from deportation. I believe the BRIDGE Act is an important part of a larger solution.
Please let the Senator know that his/her vote on the BRIDGE Act is important to me, and I will be watching closely to see how he/she comes out on this, as well as other immigration related issues.
